Meet Rice of Life Poet: Bill

"It’s only words"** features the words and voice of Bill. But who is Bill, you ask? Listen closely and you'll find out everything you need to know.

1: Tell us about you, in two sentences

I'm the amateur of the group and the oldest I would guess at 75. I've always loved poetry and art ,creative ceramics, photography, wooden art and enjoyed a little film acting, but all this as spare time only.

2: What was your method for creating the poem, anything you’d like to share on your process?

All in a dream. The idea came to me when asleep or half asleep and bothered by early morning sunshine. I wrote down the lines I received as soon as possible.

Later I scanned through dictionaries for suitable word's which had to be interesting in their sound but their meanings were not important. I chose them from my written word cloud in groups which hopefully didn't jar. It has produced a nonsense poem in the sense that the word's banging around in the head of our poet have sound but in this context no meaning.

3: What were your thoughts on hearing the outcome?

When I heard the audio I was surprised as suddenly I realised my work was now a minor constituent . . One of three, my voice, added sounds and video but that's what I signed up for after all ! Such novel innovation may be too much to take for an oldster like me but no .... I'm looking forwards to hearing and seeing all the others.

4: What was your connection to SkinGasm before agreeing?

Before agreeing I had no connection with Skingasm apart from occasionally browsing through Dex's Facebook and YouTube posts.

5: What’s your favourite rice based meal?

Pickled rice with snails feet !🤣🤣 Seriously, rice is not a star but where would we be without it?

This track has haunted me since it's production. Bill's voice is there talking about rice every morning before I wake, over and over. As much as I want everyone to hear the work we put into this album, maybe it's not a good idea after all!
